06.02.05

First off, let me say that I didn't take a lot of pictures in London. There we're a great number of places where I could fit the vibe of the place I was at into a fram of a picture, so I didn't. But here are the pictures I did take, which I've decided are relatively borring, but I feel like my mom would like to see anyway.

Here is the view from Carolyns APT. in London.

Carolyn making a strange face.

This seemed so strangely surreal in person. I felt like this little alley was right out of a movie.

A street. Some Vibe.

Some more vibe.

This is trafalgar square. I have no idea who that dude is on top, but I do know that at one time they had to remove like 2 tons of bird doodoo from the top. You can see big ben far in the distanct to the right of the large structure.

And there it is!

We decided to take a trip to Bristol, which turned out to be a very interesting place. On the buss, on the way...

There's this flower there called Rape. Strange name I know. Anyway, this is a lot of it.

Pulling up in Bristol

Carolyn in the sun. This inside of that ball is some kind of museum. It also looks neat.

I would like to live here.

The tops of these houses looked so much like they were a cartoon.

It's hard for me to explain the angle of this picture.

Then we went to Cork, Ireland.

Here is the view from our hostel room.

The Hostel we stayed in.

This picture is from nashville and doesn't belong here at all.

I don't remember taking this picture.

For my friend John Mahoney.

Inside O'Mahoneys

On the Bus!

This picture was taken at Victoria Station while leaving that land. If you click on the picture you can see a HUGE copy of it. there's a lot of stuff going on in this picture. Can you find Carolyn?

Ipods and all that

First of all, Lemme say that I think it's awesome that it's getting easier and easier for people to listen to music more. The ipod is super cool for that. It really does seem like I'm meeting more people who are listening to more music than in the past. I also think I good song can travel through rough terrane with amazing strength, and I love that too.
I have say though, that I'm a little frightened for the sound quality of the records of the future. All kids are training their ears to mp3s. Now look, I not one of those hateful pricks with a record collection of vinyl, but mp3s don't sound very good. Even at high quality, it just sucks. The music listeners of today are the engineers of later today.
And on the subject of records....I'm going to take a nap and finnish this post...
Ok, I'm up now. Here is a list of my favorite records in no particular order.

Radiohead - Kid A
REM - Automatic for the People
U2 - Unforgetable Fire
Jeff Buckley - Grace
NIN - The Downward Spiral
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
The Sundays - Reading, Writing, and Arithmatic
Sigur Ros - ( )
Low - Curtain Hits the Cast
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Notwist - Neon Golden
Ben Folds - Fear of Pop

Maybe,
You are what you are and you operate the way you operate. You put off your vibe, and no matter how much you try you will never put off any other. All you can do is to be as purely that as you can be, honestly and shamelessly.
The key is:
Honesty and confidence with joy, never ending patience, unshakable calm, and unwavering stability.

You'll Have Time

Live life
Live life like you're gonna die
Because you're gonna
I hate to be the bearer of bad news
But you're gonna die

Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it, you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?"

Now, maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
Because you're gonna die

Yes it's gonna happen because it's happened to a
Lot people I know
My mother, my father, my loves
The president, the kings and the pope
They all had hope

And they muttered just before they went
Maybe, I won't go
Live life like you're gonna die
Because you are

Now, maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
'Cause you're gonna die

I tell you who else left us
Passed on down to heaven no longer with us
Johnny Cash, JFK, That guy in the Stones
Lou Gehrig, Einstein and Joey Ramone
Have I convinced you?
Do you read my lips?
This may come as news but it's time
You're gonna die
You're gonna die

By the time you hear this I may well be dead
And you my friend might be next
'cause we're all gonna die

Yeah, oh maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
You'll have time 'cause you're gonna die

Live life
Live life like you're gonna die
Because you're gonna
I hate to be the bearer of bad news
But you're gonna die

Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it, you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?"

You are gonna die
Oh yeah

-William Shatner

Tour A

Lotsa stuff in a small van.

Our seating for the next 8 days.

Uncle pleasants in Louisville, KY. That luke in the doorway. This was a cool venue. Nice sound, cool lights, nice stage. Me Likey.

There's the fellas from Carolina, the band that set up the show with us in Louisville.

There's this amazing coffee shop next to Uncle Pleasants. I don't usually drink coffee, but kevin, luke, and I all agreed it was the best coffee we'd had.

Carolina.

Sorry there are no pictures of us playing. I couldn't very well snap pictures and play at the same time.

After the show we went to denny's

We started playing this game where we would stare at a picture of a specific food and try to transmit the message to lukes brain and see if he could guess what food we were looking at. Then he was the transmitter and we would try to guess. This is that process. I can't say it really worked terrificly, but it passed the time and was funny.

We Stayed the night in Evansville, IN with some friends on Kevins. This is Kevin half asleep.

He probably hates this picture. So be it.

This is the sky somewhere between Evansville and St. Louis, MO.

This stuff looked absoloutely crazy in real life.

This is where we played in St. Louis.

It was a weird-ass little venue with a tiny stage. This is the other bands equipment. They are the Sundresses, they are from Cincinnatti.

Nice bartender chic. Bought our record too.

Kevin's Sister Lives in St. Louis, MO. That's where we slept after the show. This is the house. Under a big midwestern sky.

    Tour B

Kevin has Amazing bed head. It's "morning" in St. Louis.

    Yes, that's Kevin on a childs four-wheeler.

    Yes, that's me on a childs four-wheeler.

    Yes, that's a gun.

    Kevin and Luke...color coordinated.

    Headed out of STL.

Next Show was in Springfield, IL at a venue called 11 West. Micah Walk set up the show and played with us. It was super cool and we had a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, My camera was down the street in my van, not in the venue..So you'll just have to imagine it.

After we played we went and had some fatty greasy shit.

I can't really explain this one.

This is the venue we played in Muncie. It's called The living room. Pretty neat place. Cool show. A bunch of people there. They dug it, they supported, they looked good.

    Merch in Muncie

    Kev Kev's Mic.

    The Drums

Us, in the street, out of focus. Why does that happen?
