Get your knife! Get your knife and cut me!

Soooo, we just spent $300 fixing kevins car and it's still not fixed. Well, the engine runs a lot better now. No clicks pops and sputters, but it still dies. Maybe a new ignition module? Maybe a new vehicle? Maybe a well-planned mass transit system?
Well, I'm all hot a sweaty 'cause I just loaded up a bunch up stuff for this here show tonight.
See you there.

Yesh!

Tuesday is election day! Don't forget to vote, but also don't forget...it's kevin's birthday! I think I'll vote for him.
Kev's car broke down yesterday, so this morning we had to take it the have it repaired. yay. no sleep for enoch. I went to get a snare for my snare drum and had to pay $50 for it 'cause the onyl company that still makes them to fit my old-ass snare drum makes them by hand with these crazy nice materials, so boo...it would have cost about $20 otherwize.

But who cares about that borring crap? Not me.

Well, we're in the midst of a huge house cleaning project. Basicly there's a bunch of junk hanging around from all the past residents of this house and us, and it must go. Kevin just worked wonders with the kitchen, but now our living room is full of crap.

Our ceiling is falling in. Yes plaster on the floor. There are so many leaks in this house. So many.

Albums I've been enjoying recently:

Afghan Whiggs - Black Love (Anyone heard this? It's GREAT!)
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
Pink Floyd - Dark side of the Moon

Night folks.

I'm laying here wide to receive

I've had this here online post for about 2 weeks or so and it's already been one of the stranger experiences of my waking life. I'd like to throw my arms around my good friend seth, but he's in DC right now.
So I got this new drum kit last week. Well it's not really new; it's about 40 years old. The last three days I've been using these polishing chemicals cleaning off smoke and sweat from 1968 and inhaling all manner of evil fumes. Now my head hurts and my room smells like crap, but it all turned out nicely.
I saw the flick I Love (heart) Huckabees. I think it was a pretty good movie. I appreciate that it requires a small amount of thought throughout. It wasn't a completely fulfilling movie, but in a way was very pleasing. Worth seeing, I'd say. Thoughts, anyone?
I keep watching the video of Ashlee Simpson's flub (yes, I said flub) on SNL. What a funny thang. Someone so got fired twice that night.
Now, I don't really mind it when people like that lip sync, truthfully. I don't like the music, so that puts a bit of a damper on it, but check this out...I think most people are looking at this whole pop start thing wrong. I know why: MTV uses the term "artist" to describe a PERFORMER and screws everyone up. Think about the big lights and music shows in Las Vegas. They're not carried out by artists, but by performers (those chics with the big wierd feathers and shit.). Nobody thinks they're uncool for their lack of artistic integrity, and you'd better believe there is all manner of track sync action going on there. Pop star shows are the same thing. Big dazling, sexy, colorful productions, not intimate artistic moments with the writer. They aren't supposed to be anything but sensory candy. Just like a fireworks show, or something. And they accomplish what they set out to do for 16 year old girls. So what if it's a pre-recorded vocal? Next time your ridicule an act for syncing, ask yourself, "what is this supposed to be?" and, "is it?"

Thoughts, anyone?

We hate it when our friends become successful

First of all, go visit Kevin's blog and post some stuff. It will brighten his darkened day.

SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW
is a nod to all great lucasfilms movies. A great adventure movie if you ask me. It was funny though, sometimes a scene for scene copy of greats like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and the like. Anyone seen it? Remember the airborn aircraft carrier (Cloud City Maybe?) part? Pay attention to the platform # they land on (327). YES! The same platform upon which Han Solo landed his mellinium falcon and cargo of scruffy-looking, space-weary, force-wielding cohorts in Empire Strikes Back! Unfortunately, all the movies referenced lay sky captain to waste, but don't think for a second that the movie sucked. It's worth seeing even if only for the amount of times you'll go, "Whoa, that's neat!". Seriously it's a way fun movie.
Well, What movies have ya'll seen recently? Any suggestions?
Also, don't forget my band is playing Saturday the 30th at Hair of the dog. Go to our website and browse around.
Post something on here.

Ever since you don't look the same you're just not the same. No way. You say clever things when there is no need to.

Now, there have been multiple comments about the way I write things, and that if comes off just how I talk in the actual earth...in person. I don't have much to say about that. but I wanted to make note of it.
Hey! There's a shining review of my band in the Vanderbuilt Hustler! I would transcribe it all here, but I'm too tired, and maybe that would be vanity overkill action.
Ok, so here's the question of the day. Now, this might be a little offensive for those with sensitive eyes and minds, so if you deem yourself way conservative, read no further.
If you could hang out with a clone of yourself...an actual carbon copy of your body and brain, (I won't get into an arguement about the scientific details of that) would you try making out with yourself? I would. I mean, you want to know what you kiss like, right?
More on this next time. Talk to you all soon. I'm looking forward to the responses.

And she counted the spiders as they crawled up inside her

Well, first of all, I don't know what that title relates to, but oh well. Back in Nashville again, after a fun and beneficial micro-tour this past week. I have to say that sure is a fun thing to do. Sometimes it gets boring driving, but it's always good conversation and scenery (so far) Kevin, Noah and I are a good match personality-wise so there's never an anoying moment. Now, lemme tell you about my brother noah, and how priceless he is. First off, the guy created our web site. Now, you've been there. It's a nice site for real! He makes entertaining films. We're working on one now with him soon to be on DVD which is really neat. On tour, he multi-tasks as mechanic, sound man, merch guy, drum tech, roadie, film crew, photographer, driver, and general make-sure-shit-is-goin'-down-right guy. It sure is great to have him around.
In other news, I am looking forward to the day when my sex drive subsides and I percieve the world without my I'm-22-years-old blinders. This is all pretty skewed. It's ok though. I can live with is. I can because I will. Must Sleep...

Sing your life. Any fool can think up words that ryme

The show in Springfield IL was a success! I must admit I had my doubts when we rolled into town, but it turned out fine. We'll definitely be back. Met some nice people too. This fella Micah who opened up for us was swell. I'm in Anderson, IN. We're playing here on Saturday. A day to kill with my family. Nice.
So, anyone listen to The Shins? Their record was playing at the venue in springfield. Sounded alright, anyone have a preference of Shins records?
Also, I popped in a CD by The Sundays on the way to indiana. Dang those were some good records.
It's four AM. Somebody post something.

I can have both, I can have both

Well, here I am in Evansville, IN. The spot is "Wired", a two level coffee-shop/venue thingy. It's interesting. We just finished sound check and ate some good food. I curious what the turn-out will be. There are already a lot more people here than last time.
The midwest is a strange land. Mystical and tormenting, I'd say. but different people have different opinions.
UH-OH, first band is going on.

I'm not happy and I'm not sad...

Well hooray for working!!! the last 9 hours have been relatively uneventful, as I have simply been making coffee beverages. I've become quite ninja at it over the last three years and can basicly do it with my mind elsewhere. I went through a lot of thoughts while I was at work. Somehow they must not have really mattered, as they've all slipped away into some distant fantasy land.
Now there was someone interesting that I met who books at a neato venue here in town. I also met her friend Justin from Birmingham Alabama. He was a witty person with an endearing sarcasm I happened to appreciate. We "shot the shit" till their food came out and then they were gone. It's so strange; the micro-interactions I have with people at that job. It's like a million buddings of what some might think could be friendships, but in the grand scheme of things, these people are just passing through and then their on to other things. I've been in the same place for almost 500 shifts now, constantly seeing people move from my left to my right. There's something peotic about the whole thing, but that's for someone who posseses a way with words that I haven't right now.

16, clumsy and shy.

Well, I'm back in good 'ol TN after an eventful family reunion. Certain extensions of my family took it upon themselves to spend the whole time trying to tell me for whom to vote in the upcoming elections. I don't know about you, but when I travel 8 hours to hang out with my family, I don't want to have a political debate.
No, really I had a good time. Among many fun things, I got to see my neice (Emilee, 8 months) and nephew (Michael, 2 yrs.) who are both shooting up. Kids are fun and cute...especially when they adore you.
But enough about my family. How abouts this new Kings of Convenience (Riot on an empty Street) record, eh? It's Superfun. Kevin says it's a Simon and Garfunkiddy ripoff. So be it.
No deep thoughts today. Enjoy Er'thang!

I touched you at the sound check.

This is the first post. My first post on the interweb. I would like you to meet me, so here I am. Today was a productive day. Peter Matteson of the band Death Comesto Matteson came over with his drummer and recorded some stuff on my computer. This day was a good day. Tomorrow I will go to Illinois to a family reunion which will be great fun. The members of my extended family that will be there haven't been able to get together for many years. I'm really looking forward to it. Also, come back.
