William Goode (Spoon River Anthology)

To all in the village I seemed, no doubt,
To go this way and that way, aimlessly,
But here by the river you can see at twilight
The soft-winged bats fly zig-zag here and there--
They must fly so to catch their food.
And if you have ever lost your way at night,
In the deep wood near Miller's Ford,
And dodged this way and now that,
Wherever the light of the Milky way shone through,
Trying to find the path,
You should understand I sought the way
With earnest zeal, and all my wanderings
Were wanderings in the quest.

Blazer and Tie, and a Big Bright Healthy Smile

I know! It's been forever since I've posted pictures! Here's what's been going on: A lot!

I can to Nashville to record. Due to some circumstances, I haven't really done much of that. But in true planet Earth form, that's become a really good thing. This month is an opportunity for me to work on my process and pattern.

1. I've been Reading/doing The Artists Way, a beautiful course in discovering and recovering your creativity.

2. I've been getting up early every day and doing all the little bits I need to feel like a superhuman. (meditation, journaling, dance, stretch, voice workout, a leisurely breakfast)

3. I'm soaking up the sun and boating with ben and building with noah, and I got to hang out with gabe for two weeks straight!

Enjoy.

Photobucket This is the view from my bedroom window in Manhattan. It doesn't always look this cool. This looks really neat because of all the drugs I was on when I took the photo!

Live life at five times the average speed, like I do.

2010, June 2nd

The first day of school my teacher said, “this is the hardest thing you'll do in your life.”

Winter '09/'10 tore me apart. The function of this summer is to heal. To heal from heartbreak, exhaustion, and 9 straight months of unending stress.

Stress has been my fuel for 15 years. Stress isn't helpful—actually it's harmful in this work—so I'm learning (slowly) to operate differently.

I choose to:

Be emotionally generous with myself
Use my powers for good
Start at the beginning
Be kind to myself
Honor truth
Have experience and let it flow through me
Find the form in my life
Always find the meaning in my life
Follow after that which has meaning
